Boxwoods are very popular ornamental plants in gardens, being particularly valued for topiary and hedges because of its tolerance of close shearing, small leaves, and scented foliage.

Boxwoods are very tolerant of clipping, which makes them excellent hedges and topiaries.

Grow dwarf boxwoods in a rock garden, or as a groundcover.

Trim hedges in summer. Plants will tolerate hard pruning in late spring if fed afterwards.   In general, shoots of species should be trimmed after the flowering period. Remove dead/damaged plant parts in midspring.
